events-morris-county-coccia-real-estate

At Coccia Real Estate Group, we don’t just help people find their homes in Morris County – it’s our home, too! And summer is one of our favorite seasons in northern New Jersey. We’ve excitedly scoured the Internet for fun that has yet to come in East Hanover, Hanover, Florham Park, Parsippany-Troy Hills and more.

These activities should appeal to individuals of all ages and are sure to entertain your taste buds, mind and ears.

Through June 30th: Friday Night Skate at Mennen Arena

Location: Morris Township

Beginning in June, summer begins to really raise the stakes in temperature. Why not stay active and cool off simultaneously by going to the last Friday Night Skates available at Mennen Arena? This weekly skating event has happened every Friday since October, but the doors will close at the end of June.

June 3rd – June 25th: Strawberry Harvest Festival

Location: Alstede Farms, Chester

June is the month for harvesting everybody’s beloved strawberries! Alstede farms will welcome people throughout the month with strawberry ice cream, strawberry shortcakes and much more. Those who want to pick their own strawberries can take a hayride to the strawberry patch. Other activities will include pony rides, a bounce house and a wagon train ride.

June 17th: Parsippany Food Truck Festival

Location: Parsippany

If you love food as much as we do, then Parsippany’s Food Truck festival will have you fasting in the days ahead, just so you can sample as many good eats as possible! Expect to choose from between dozens of gourmet food trucks, along with a vast assortment of wine, beer and live music.

June 24th-25th: Toy Con New Jersey

Location: Parsippany

Who doesn’t have a special place for toys? Toy Con New Jersey is back with its first congregation in 2017. Expect up to 200 tables of vintage and current rare toys, comics, movie memorabilia, sports, action figures and more to be had. In addition, expect comic artists, a costume contest and live auctions.

July 14th, Jazz in July 100th Anniversary Dixieland and Swing

Location: The Morristown-Morris Township Library

A fan of classic jazz, Dixieland and swing? The Morristown library is honoring the 100th anniversary of their library’s construction on South Street and Miller Road in 1917. But it’s not only the 100th anniversary for the library – jazz is also an official centenarian too!

For $20 per ticket, the concert series opens with the classic Delta jazz standards of Dixieland. At the time, the music became so famous, it transcended its genre and became familiar with other music fans as well!

All proceeds from the concert go to benefit the library.

August 16th, Broadway’s Biggest Musical Flops and Hits

Location: The Morris Museum

Our moments of joy are only truly joyful because there is sorrow. For the very same reason, the very best of Broadway must on occasion send its appreciation for the very worst.

The reality is that more Broadway shows tank than end up at the Tony Awards. Join Eric Hafen, the Producing Artistic Director of the Bickford Theatre, and he explores some of the worst productions to ever graced a Broadway stage.

Tickets are $10 for members of the Morris Museum and $12 for everyone else. Advanced registration is required.

Halloween Haunted House at Picatinny Arsenal

At Oct 28, 2010

On October 29th and 30th the Picatinny Arsenal will have its annual Halloween Haunted House.  This is a great event that my family enjoys every year and apparently many people agree with me because more than 2,000 visitors attend from the North New Jersey area each season.

There is lots of fun to be had such as witches, goons and goblins but there is also a 40 x 18 ft high inflatable obstacle course. The dun begins at 6:30 pm and tickets are reasonably prices. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent. If you work up an appetite feel free to stop by the Cemetery Café for graveside dining.

Hope to see you there!
